So me and my little boy arrived safe and sound in my dear home state yesterday. I was very surprised with how Ahmad was with the airplane and 6 hours of traveling. He didn't cry one time and was very content in his mama's arms. My grandparents were there to meet us and were so happy to meet their new and first great-grandson. After leaving the airport we went to my moms work to pick her up for lunch. We ate at panera bread and my mom wouldn't put the baby down! She held him while she ate and got her drinks and everything! She for sure hasn't lost her touch. :)
After we ate we took my mom back to work where she showed of her grandson. I will never forget the pride she had in her voice when she said, "This is my grandson."
I thought maybe Ahmad would have a hard time sleeping in the night because of the new sounds, smells and noises, but low behold, he slept 5 1/2 hours straight. This afternoon my grandma and I took Ahmad over to her neighbor Esther. Esther has known me for as long as I can remember. She use to sit on her porch and watch my brothers and I play in the yard. After visiting Esther, we went back in the house and later decided to take a walk until we say my moms car parked in her drive way so we went to see her. I just love seeing my mother hold my son, it just warms my heart! Right before we were going to leave, my brother who is joining the marines once he graduates this May, walked in. He held Ahmad and in my opinion enjoyed until Ahmad started crying.
I am so happy that my family has finally seen their first grandson, great-grandson, and nephew!
